TODAY's the day!

Today is the day Ladies and Gents! No turning back now, not that I could .... mainly as Sue would kick my (hopefully smaller after this ride) bum!

I took today as leave from work today so that i could be really organised with lists and pack all that we need. However, i have been rather distracted and seem to have made so many lists that i now need a list to keep track of my many lists!

So this has kinda resulted in me piling most of the clothes i own up with no idea what to take! I mean, there might be a situation that arises where i need that weird hat i bought tassels that i have never worn before! You never know!

Poor Suey is working hard today, so i think she will be sound asleep the moment we set off.

A big thank you to Chris and Len at Div Base Scotland (Along with the naughty Scottish DTs and their offers of massage's!) and Amanda from Div Base South who have been amazing!

Last minute bike love...

Sueys bike is heading of for a service and a last minutes check over today, and we are picking up our sale or return bits and bobs from the local bike shop (Ride - thank you very much)

Its all systems go, as we head towards the end of the week and our departure. We have our Lifeboat Mechanic bear already to come support us, we will be taking plenty of pictures of him and us in different places. Challenge is to get the most interesting picture... but keeping it well behaved of course!

Our trendy caravan is now nearly all packed and ready to go- including the new scatter cushions for comfort in the evening!

I'd like to thank all the SV650. org folk that have given me loads of advice and been generally a lovely bunch!

And of course a lovely thank you to all the donators, who have been smashing - and my even more lovely Mum and Gran who have been bullying people into donating on our behalf! 

I will try and post before we leave but if not i will post when we get to John O Groats -with a picture just to prove that we are there! :p

1 Week to go!

With only one week to go before our monumental challenge, are we ready?

Short answer .. ish!

Physically we have prepared (we could have done more i am sure), mentally i think we are ready for the trials and tribulation that are to come, BUT dammed if i can find all the kit i have bought for the trip over the last few weeks!! How is it that even when you think you put things in a safe sensible place they always seem to go walk about?

The plan of action for this week is as follows:
- Make a kit list!
- Pack the van
- Go over the bike one last time
- Stop panicking
- and accept that there will be at least one thing that we forget.

We are due to start on Sunday 26th June, so if anyone in the area wishes to come and see us off please get in touch!
